Kimchi Grilled Cheese in an Air Fryer
It’s a delicious fusion of spicy and creamy, crunchy and gooey, sour and savory.
Kimchi grilled cheese is one of my favorite comfort foods. It’s a delicious fusion of spicy and creamy, crunchy and gooey, sour and savory. And the best part is, it’s super easy to make in an air fryer!
Kimchi is a traditional Korean fermented cabbage dish that has many health benefits. It’s rich in probiotics, vitamins, and antioxidants. It also adds a lot of flavor and texture to any dish. You can find kimchi in most Asian grocery stores or make your own at home.
For this recipe, you will need:
- Sourdough bread (or any crusty bread of your choice)
- Organic sharp cheddar cheese (or any melty cheese of your choice)
- Kimchi (or sauerkraut if you don’t like spicy food)
- Butter
- Mayonnaise (optional)
- Sriracha sauce (optional)
Here are the steps to make this amazing kimchi grilled cheese in an air fryer:
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Butter one side of each bread slice. If you like, you can also spread some mayonnaise and sriracha sauce on the other side for extra flavor and creaminess.
- Place one bread slice, buttered side down, on a cutting board. Top it with cheese slices and kimchi. Cover with another bread slice, buttered side up. Repeat with the remaining bread, cheese, and kimchi.
- Place the sandwiches in the air fryer basket in a single layer. You may need to do this in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
- Air fry for 10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the bread is golden and crisp and the cheese is melted.
- Enjoy your kimchi grilled cheese while it’s hot and ooey-gooey!
I hope you love this recipe as much as I do. It’s a great way to use up leftover kimchi and cheese, and it’s perfect for a quick and satisfying lunch or snack. Let me know what you think in the comments below!
