Never Eat These 3 Ingredients

The three ingredients you should never eat

Never Eat These 3 Ingredients.

Never Eat These 3 Ingredients. Three ingredients to avoid at all cost. It is very rare that you will ever hear me say NEVER to foods or ingredients. I am typically and 80/20…90/10 mindset. However, there are three specific ingredients in many foods that are absolutely unnecessary and directly linked to major health concerns. The research is stacked so high against nitrates, nitrates, hydrogenated oils, and high-fructose corn syrup.

Studies show added nitrates and nitrites are directly linked with specific cancers (Chazelas, 2022). This study points out that compared with people who did not eat foods containing nitrites and nitrates, those who consumed them regularly had a statistically higher risk of developing cancer. Added nitrates and nitrites are often found in cured meats such as sausage, hot dogs, smoked meats, and some sauces such as bbq sauce, etc.

High fructose is another, “please don’t do it” ingredient. Large consumption of HFCS is directly associated with obesity, diabetes, weight gain, fatty liver disease, and heart disease (Mawer, 2019). High fructose corn syrup in often found in ketchup, candy, soda, juice, fast food, syrup, sauces, breads, ice cream, etc. Read the labels to be sure.

Hydrogenated oils

Hydrogenated oils are simply horrible for our health. They are linked with systemic inflammation and poor heart health. Hydrogenated oils were created to give products a longer lasting shelf life. Imagine what they’re doing inside your body as they are difficult to break down. They are a highly manufactured ingredient that inflames our system. The FDA has even begun the process of removing hydrogenated oils from foods (Skerrett, 2015). Thank God! Here are some foods that still have these horrible oils in them.

  • Processed foods
  • Frozen foods
  • Fried foods
  • Fast foods
  • Cake and brownie mixes
  • Coffee creamers
  • Shortenings
  • Salad dressing
  • Bakery items (brownies, pies, cakes, muffins, cookies)
  • Cereals
  • Peanut Butters
  • Chocolate containers that are used to melt and dip strawberries in

It is rare that I am this adamant about particular ingredients. The good news about this is there are so many alternative products without these ingredients. We have a lot of choices today and I am encouraging you to make better choices than these three ingredients. Your health depends on it!
